My introduction to yoga was primarly for rehab to an injured shoulder that was affecting all areas of my life. At first, I was only aware of the physical benefits of the practice, but 8 years later I have come to realize that yoga keeps me, my family, my relationships and my attitude balanced.
My past is from an altheltic background in which I played competitive basketball, volleyball, ringette. I also studied musical theatre in college(singing, dancing, acting) which where all improved because of the yoga. My past endeavors definately influence my classes and how I teach.
I studied and completed my ISHTA training in Tokyo, Japan. ISHTA yoga has a two-fold meaning: an acroynym for the Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayruveda and a sanskrit word meaning individualized or personalized. Recognizing the uniqueness of the individual soul, Ishta yoga recognizes that every individual needs their own unique practice that will best address their own needs, devolopment and self-awareness. ISHTA Yoga embraces elements from a variety of styles and seeks to help its students discover the exact blend of postures, breathing and meditation techniques neccesary to bring out their full potential.
This past year I was invited to be a yoga instuctor as a part of an on-line global fitness community . You can take your practice with you on the road by visiting www.mypyeline.com
I believe that we are all our own teachers, and that we as yoga practioners are only their to guide you through your journey. I like to bring a nurturing qaullity into the yoga space in which we can find awareness and mindfulness as we practice.
...honor the divine that lives in you, honor the divine that lives in all beings, and may all beings everywhere be free from pain and suffering...
